PSHE Network- PRIMARY

Online Teams Meeting

< Back to CPD Activities

From your feedback, you have said you would like a virtual PSHE network. This will provide an opportunity to promote and share good practice from other schools, resources, local expert guest speakers and give a chance to discuss the latest development within the RSE and HE statutory guidance.

This network will enable PSHE leaders, Learning Mentors, Pastoral Support, the opportunity to ask questions and get support.

Never has PSHE been so important with the sufficient impact from Covid-19 on our staff, children, and young people’s physical and mental wellbeing.

PSHE gives school staff a chance to explore many factors that affective children and young people in a safe and effective learning environment.

As you know PSHE helps children and young people to protect themselves and others both online and offline, improves their physical and emotional health, and develops character, resilience, academic attainment, and employment prospects, with the greatest benefits experienced by the most disadvantaged pupils.

All of this will help to be evidenced in your Personal Development judgement for Ofsted.

Ofsted inspectors will look at pupils’:

  • Resilience, confidence, and independence
  • Knowledge of how to keep physically and mentally healthy
  • The breadth and balance of the curriculum and its impact on pupils’ outcomes and their personal, development, behaviour, and welfare

They will also look at:

  • The importance of learners’ discovery of their interests and talents
  • How schooling is preparing pupils for life
  • How schools are developing an age appropriate RSE/RE and Health Education.

These sessions will give schools and academies a fantastic opportunity to support the health and wellbeing agenda, as well as giving it a much higher priority for all the pupils and staff.
